Underwater life Red Sea

There is so much sealife to see underwater in the Red Sea. When you look from the surface you mostly see sand and rocks, but as soon as you dive into the Red Sea, close to the reefs, the views are magnificent. Beautiful colors, as if you are diving in a garden, which doesn’t need any green fingers, it just evolves from itself. Something what’s inspiring and doesn’t get me bored any time soon. See below some pictures of the underwater sealife.

Nudibranch
Pustulose wart slug
Pseudoceros dimidiatus flatworm
Spanish dancer

The Spanish dancer, mostly seen in the night, but we saw it right under our boat, at daytime, when we had to do the safety stop. It is way larger then I thought, as I’ve seen a few nudibranches before, which aren’t bigger then your finger, but this one, was almost as big as my hand, maybe bigger.

Worm
Red Sea Walkman

I know the nudi branches aren’t large, but even therefor hard to find and to discover. Although I must confess that one dive I was trying to find the pyama nudibranch at Carless reef and we came to the drop off. Where we searched for something in the blue and suddenly an Oceanic Manta was passing by. At that point I forgot all about the pyama nudibranch. Unfortunately no one in the diving group had a camera with them. Therefor we can’t say it happened. I was really impressed and staring at this huge sea creature. I think my heart just skipped a beat. It was moving so gracious, as if you put your camera in slowmotion. Hanging there, stunned, just at the edge of the drop off, with 5 other divers including the dive guide. This moment will be engraved in my memory forever.

Pyama nudibranch

After a few dives I also saw the pyama nudi branch myself. A friend of mine heard the name of the creature and now it’s her new spirit animal.

Sea Dragon
Stonefish

Do you see it? I was circling around it as the dive guide was giving signals there must be something down there. Everyone laught about me once we came back on the boat and I sad “I was looking at the purple stuff, but what was it?!” Apparently and yes when I got to see the picture I saw the stonefish.

Christmas tree worms

It cost me a few dives, but I finally saw them. The christmas tree worm. Christmas Countdown

So if you haven’t been diving in Egypt yet, go to Voodoo divers. Diving Egypt
